Our story
In 1993, a family from Puebla decided to enter the food and beverage industry by opening a small taquería on 2 Poniente Street #102, in the Historic Center of Puebla.
With just one taco cook, one grill cook, and one waitress, they began serving the restaurant’s eight tables, gradually winning over customers with their warm service and the unmistakable flavor of their al pastor and grilled tacos.
The family’s hard work and dedication soon paid off, and in 1997 they opened a second location in a beautiful colonial-style house on 2 Poniente Street #105.
There, the sound of a frog in the courtyard fountain inspired the name that still defines us today: “El Patio y Las Ranas”.
Over time, El Patio y Las Ranas has become a beloved traditional taquería in Puebla, known for its unique al pastor taco recipe, its family-friendly atmosphere, and its commitment to keeping alive one of the most cherished traditions in Mexican cuisine.
